This beach in the Konkan is a hub of activity, with fishermen anchoring their boats of various sizes and colors at the jetty. There are a few bars and restaurants, which make the beach one of the most welcoming places on the Sindhudurg coast. Moreover, it is close to the city center and hence, is the most accessible beach in the area. The government has proposed a marine park here since 2000, but there has yet to be any progress. The location of Malvan is like a fortified island on the coastal reef; during low tide, coral patches and other marine flora and fauna can be seen. For now, the best attraction here is the Sindhudurga fort.
